IT Support Technician


Position Summary

This position encompasses all frontend help desk responsibilities such as supporting workstations, applications, and telephones for the end users. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively organize competing priorities to successfully meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of customer service. The IT Support Tech must have excellent problem solving skills in order to diagnose, evaluate and resolve complex problem situations. This position will report directly to the IT Manager.

Tasks
  • Provide infrastructure support to 100+ users, troubleshooting hardware and software related issues to our end user environment.
  • Install and Support end user workstations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network related issues.
  • Printer Maintenance
  • Occasionally develop computer based solutions to meet internal user needs -- could be queries or minor application development.
  • Manage and own assigned IT projects.
  • Assist IT Manager on other day to day operations.
  • Other tasks as necessary.
Skills
  • Knowledge of Internet and Intranet Technologies.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory account management preferred.
  • Proficient with malware/antivirus removal.
  • Some Network Experience -- switching, firewalls, VPNs, network storage, and virtual environments.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN Technologies.
  • Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016)
  • Windows 7 & 10 Operating Systems
  • MS Office Knowledge (Strong Excel knowledge is a plus).
  • Linux (RHEL 7 and CentOS).
  • Scripting Languages.
  • Writing skills to communicate well via e-mail with co-workers and supporting agencies, and to organize data and explain technical details.
  • Listening skills to understand the concerns and problems an employee is experiencing and respond accordingly.
  • Time Management to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Listens to others and accepts input from team members.
  • Clearly articulate ideas and thoughts verbally.
Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • College Experience desired

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Office environment
  • Ability to drive to production facility for meetings, etc. (valid driversí license)
